Hola i Chau
is an artist duo from Chile and Argentina, currently based in Berlin. Their name is a playful reference to the binary greetings “Hola” (hi) and “Chau” (bye), which they use as a conceptual frame to explore duality, opposites, and the tension between order and chaos.

Their practice embraces the unexpected, inconsistency, and visual discordance as integral parts of the work, understanding process as equally important as final outcome. Their work remains in a continuous state of flux, reinterpreting itself and standing in a place that needs nourishment without the use of words.

Working at the intersection of painting and installation, they develop unstable visual systems that investigate the relationships between color, form, space, and material transformation. Through a shared methodology, they construct processes in which intuitive gesture and formal constraint coexist, allowing works to evolve through repetition, displacement, and reconfiguration. Materials, often found or discarded, are activated through processes of transformation and recontextualization.

Their work has been presented in solo exhibitions including The Remoteness (Studio Trouble, Berlin, 2024), The Stillness of Motion (Weserhalle, Berlin, 2019), and Los días cortos (Mommsen35, Berlin, 2019), as well in group exhibitions as 'Focus on Abstraction' at Pavillon am Milchhof Berlin (2022) and “Opak” in Vienna, Austria (2021). Additionally, their work has been exhibited internationally in cities such as Istanbul, Brussels, Buenos Aires, and Santiago de Chile.
